Here are my personal recommendations for which Bloomington MN Hotels are best for families.
If you are flying through the MSP airport, be sure to check out this handy guide for families detailing all of the kid/baby facilities in the airport!
Mid Range Hotels:
Radisson Waterpark of America:
The Radisson Waterpark of America is another obvious choice from those with little ones as it is attached to the Waterpark of America and includes water park passes with your room reservation. They have three restaurants on site (including a Dairy Queen in the water park) as well as free shuttle service to and from the airport and Mall of America (the shuttle includes transportation to businesses within a five mile radius, which I interpret COULD mean taking you to the Walmart down the road to pick up the necessaries that you forgot).

Embassy Suites MSP Airport:
I ALWAYS love recommending Embassy Suites for families, and the Embassy Suites near the MSP Airport/Mall Of America is no exception. The all suite accommodations make traveling with kids SO much more enjoyable.
Embassy Suites offer full hot breakfast each morning (it is so much more than your normal waffles and sausages…they usually have an omelet station.) As an extra, they offer an evening reception on most week nights with appetizers (that could easily double as dinner) and most importantly for mom and dad, free wine and cocktails!
Like most Bloomington hotels, they offer shuttle service to the airport and Mall of America. The hotel is also located right across the street from the light rail stop connecting you to downtown Minneapolis (loads of kid friendly things to do here!)

If you are staying in Bloomington, Minneapolis is a SUPER easy day trip from Bloomington on the light rail. Here are some of the best things to do in Minneapolis!
Budget Hotel:
Livinn Hotel (Burnsville, MN):
My recommendation for a budget hotel to stay at while visiting the Mall of America is a quick 10 minute drive from the Mall of America (apologies, they do not offer a free shuttle, but if you are traveling with kids, having the flexibility of a car might be something you want to consider anyways.)
The Livinn Hotel in Burnsville, MN offers great rates that include breakfast. Burnsville really is a quick 10 minute drive from the Mall Of America (except during rush hour when it might take you 20 minutes).
Most importantly, it has gotten great reviews on Tripadvisor for great service and clean rooms (SUPER important when you are travelling with little ones…trust me, I know.)
Splurge:
Raddison Blu:
The Radisson Blu is an obvious choice for families looking for Bloomington MN hotels for one reason; it is directly connected via a skyway to the Mall of America (and all of the kid friendly activities, restaurants and shops there).
They have suites available which can make family travel much easier by giving you just a little more space to stretch out (and potentially saving you the cost of renting a whole extra room.) Top this off with a super hip and trendy atmosphere, a great bar and free grab and go breakfast, and you have the making for an easy, hassle free vacation with your kiddos!
BONUS (Convenience Winner!):
HOME2 Suites Bloomington MN:
I have to add the Home2 Suites in Bloomington MN to the list, as I just ran across this new hotel the other day. The location is IDEAL. It is just miles from the Mall of America (free shuttle service included.)
What really impressed me is the location. It is right in the heart of a shopping district that includes many stores convenient for families. It is right above a grocery store, across from a Target and Walgreens and almost every other store you could imagine or need is within a block of the hotel thanks to a couple of GINORMOUS strip malls.
The hotel offers free breakfast, all suite accommodation that offer great flexibility for families (with stocked kitchen facilities) and free WIFI. This would be on my short list of Bloomington MN hotels to stay at during our visit!
